There was celebration at Murang’a Water and Sanitation Company during the flagging off a sponsorship programme for the six students joining secondary schools.

Muwasco Managing Director Eng Daniel Ng’ang’a sending the six to various secondary  schools  said the Muwasco Masomo Scholarship programme has been operational for years supporting education of the learners from the poor background in Murang’a and Maragua towns.

“This a noble programme that has transformed the lives of many students who could have been wasted if the supporters failed to identify them,” said Ng’ang’a.

He called upon water service providers countrywide to initiate  bursary  programmes to impact  the neighbours positively.

In the KCSE 2022, Muwasco is proud to have supported two learners Derrick Gichuhi and  Stephen Nyamu who were in Njiri and Njumbi boys high schools and obtained university entry grades, added the MD.

Muchungucha Primary school head teachers Ms Alice Njeru welcomed the scholarship programme initiated by Muwasco saying it has supported many of the learners.

“ The teachers are happy as Muwasco came to the rescue of the learners whose fate hangs in balance due to lack of options,” said Njeru.
