Murang’a County government, through a strategic partnership with experts, has managed to produce organic fertilizer from the organic waste at the Mitumbiri Sanitary Landfill.
The local Governor Irungu Kang’ata made the announcement on Friday as he celebrated the milestone that led to the conversion of organic waste into organic fertilizer at the Landfill facility located in Gikono village, in Wempa ward in Maragua constituency.

“The organic fertilizer is now available for our farmers. Creating jobs, turning waste into wealth for a more productive and sustainable Murang’a,” said Kang’ata.
