With only a year to the general election in Laikipia county several people have started making in roads eying to contest against Governor Ndiritu Muriithi.
The leading lights in the contest are Miriam Mwangi head of Human Resource department at Laikipia County Assembly, and former Governor Joshua Wakahora Irungu.
Others are Wahome Koinange, Laikipia West MP Patrick Mariru, former deputy Governor Gitonga Kabugi and businessmen Kamau Mburu and John Wakaba.
in the league only Wakaba and Mwangi are from Laikipia East as others are residents of Laikipia West constituency.
In the past one month, the governor has moved out of the office holding consultation meetings with the residents while outlining his development agenda as well as assuring the voters he will defend his position.
Mwangi has been holding meetings with the opinion leaders outlining her development strategy if elected into the position.
