The accident that occurred along the busy Nyeri-
Nyahururu road robbed Laikipia County, three dedicated teachers.
The Saturday
accident led to the deaths of Mwathi Githuku, the principal at Karaba secondary
school, his wife Eunice Njoki, and Thome
Day Secondary School Peterson Irungu Mwangi.
Njoki was a headmistress at Mariakani Primary School.
Governor
Ndiritu Muriithi joined the Laikipia residents condoling the families during the trying moments following the fatal road accident.
In a message
of condolence in the wake of this tragic demise, the Governor eulogized the
three as dedicated persons who will be remembered by many.
“As we come to terms with the loss we pray that the
Almighty God give us strength and forbearance as we all join efforts to see to
it that these great embodiments of dedications, hard work, sterling leadership,
and performance, remain an abiding legacy both to the teaching fraternity in
the county and our community at large,” the message read.
The
Mountain Journal editorial boards join the Laikipians when mourning the demise
of the three teachers, who will be remembered for their dedication toward the uplifting
