Wakili Mbiyu Kamau is a man of the people who spends his time touring the villages to understand community needs.
In his visit to the villages to check the level of Covid 19 preparedness, he distributed face masks to youth engaged in Kazi kwa Vijana Programme.
Mbiyu appreciated the youths involved in Kazi Kwa Vijana saying in a short time, they have transformed the lives in the villages.
The Lawyer, apart from issuing face masks to help in stopping the spread of Covid 19, has been feeding the youth in the areas as part of social responsibility.
Community leaders Joseph Muraga and Njau Biringi said there was a need for devoted leaders to assist Kandara grow socially and economically.
Muraga said over the year Kandara has lacked committed leadership, focusing that Wakili will be the best person to take over in 2022 from MP Alice Wahome.
” The residents are committed to get the best and Wakili who is a son born in the locality has been vetted and found to be the best,” said Muraga.
” I appreciate efforts made by President Uhuru Kenyatta that has engaged hundreds of the youth countrywide through Kazi Kwa Vijana initiative, which has assisted in improved living standards, the majority have been introduced into saving for the future.
He also advises them to avoid being part of criminal gangs to engage in productive work geared towards uplifting their lives and society at large.
He was addressing the youth at Kamurugu area where he educated them on the need to adhere to Ministry of Health Covid 19 protocols.
” More importantly on Covid 19 is frequent handwashing, sanitizing and keeping social distance,” said Wakili.
