President William Ruto returned to his Murang’a political stronghold promising to improve his score card ready for the re-election.
He said the ongoing development programme initiated by his administration once completed by next year would be ahead of his rivals who have perfected the hurling of insults and spreading propagangas.
Ruto said he was not afraid of his opponents but would not engage him with hurling of insults, as he was interested in transforming the country.
The president stressed that his administration has initiated tangible development programmes in the country that upon completion will transform the living standard of the people.
He spoke at Githumu AIC Church in Kandara where he worshipped, saying that he will not entertain baseless politics.
“ I challenge my opponents to produce their development score cards, and am ready to provide mine at the election time,” he said.
He said his administration has allocated Sh 600 billion for an affordable housing programme, with Murang’a benefiting with a share of Sh 27 billion for the construction of 5,000 housing units and 25 modern markets. There are also plans for hostels for 4,500 students in the local colleges.
Other leaders present were Kerra Chairman Eng Antony Mwaura, MPs Sabina Chege( Nominated), Betty Maina( Murang’a), Gathoni Muchomba( Githunguri) Jane Kagiri(Laikipia), Senator Veronica Maina( Nominated) and Murang’a Senatorial aspirant Patrick Muigai and Murang’a MCAs.
