Murang’a politics takes shape with Kang’ata setting pace to ditch UDA

 Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata ditches UDA,  as he outlines journey in the remaining year to the election, as he says he will be respectful to President William Ruto.

Kang’ata  in a press release said he will not vie the next general election on the UDA party, promising to communicate his future through  the  platform  to the electorate.

“ I will remain loyal to the party and to the President through the remainder of this term, up to the 2027 general election,” said Kang’ata.

 He made the announcement  barely an hour after he shared a platform with Ruto  and a section of leaders at Njiiri School in Kigumo, Murang’a.

 Kang’ata said, “I will not seek to defend my seat on the party’s ticket. I will, at a later stage.

He said the matter pertaining to his political direction had understandably generated discussion in recent months.

“ I will remain a disciplined and committed member of the party and continue serving  the people  diligently and cooperate with the national government in delivering development to our people,” he said.
