Mt Kenya residents should embrace Prof Kindiki

Weeks after allies of President William Ruto were heckled in Mt Kenya, a new front has been formed  to help reverse the situation through pleading with the residents to support the government focusing at benefiting with the development programmes.

 Jubilee Party leader  Sabina Chege has pitched camp in her Murang’a back yard pleading with the residents to stop ridiculing leaders and instead allow them  to address them.

 She however said there was need to recognise  Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki after the former Rigathi Gachagua was impeached.

The leaders in Mt Kenya region who support Gachagua have a habit of discrediting development programmes initiated by the government.

She adviced said the residents  to change and instead embrace Prof Kithure Kindiki, and shun culture of hurling insults of the leaders in their localities.

Speaking in Gateiguru village in Gatanga, Murang’a when she distributed food stuff  to persons living with special needs said the MPs should stop misleading the residents, and instead encourage them into SHIF. 

Chege castigated a section of the MPs’  for having been talking ill against the SHIF yet they were in parliament when the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Bill was approved.

Accompanied by Muranga’a deputy speaker Moses Gachui, deputy majority leader Liz Mbugua, MCAs Samson Mukora, Moses Mirara, Kamau Munyua and Thomas Muteti, Chege said, the Mt Kenya leaders should stop the war songs in public functions, and instead remain focused in development. 

In Mt Kenya leaders in support of the former Deputy President are led by senators Joe Nyutu, Karungo Thangwa, Kamau Murango John Methu, MPs Jane Njeri, Wanjiku Muhia, Mary Wamaua and Gathoni Wamuchomba.

“ The Mt Kenya MPs  should not follow the impeached Gachagua but they should work with Prof Kithure Kindiki who is the Deputy President  ready to help in transformation of the region,” said Chege.

 She also water down the unity between the kikuyu and kamba communities saying the formation is uncalled for as there is no election.

Chege thanked for the unity demonstrated by President William Ruto and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying the gesture by the two will assist the country to prosper.

“ I will also reach  for Uhuru,  who mentored me and later nominated me in parliament after the 2022 elections, when  led the Raila Odinga Presidential campaigns,” said Chege.
