People’s Party of Kenya Party (PPK) leader Ndindi Nyoro scoffed at the government over the proposal to offer free university education, when it has failed to resolve the ongoing lecturers’ strike.
The Kiharu MP accused the state of failure to honour the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed by the university lecturers.
Speaking in his Kiharu backyard when he addressed the party members at the Mothers Union Hall, Ndindi challenged President William Ruto’s administration to implement the agreed terms to end the stalemate, warning that continued industrial action was disrupting learning and threatening the quality of higher education.

“ The university students are bearing the brunt of the industrial dispute and should not be forced to suffer because of the government’s failure to resolve the lecturers’ grievances,” said the PPK leader.
At the same time he castigated President Ruto for conducting business using Kenyan public assets, accusing him of placing personal and commercial interests ahead of the needs of the country.
“ The state is using pensioners’ money in the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) share deal, awaiting a takeover plan at a later date,” said the Kiharu MP, adding that the national economy was at stake.
The country, he emphasised, needed effective leadership that would protect public resources.
“ President Ruto should immediately stop what he described as doing business with Kenyan assets, as the country was facing serious economic challenges that required responsible leadership,” said the MP.
On the opposition unity, he urged the colleagues to remain focused on winning the next general election instead of allowing baseless issues to play.

He hit out at some opposition leaders who have perfected undermining others to the extent of branding him as a mole, terming the move a personal attack.
“ I dismissed allegations fronted by a section of the DCP leaders that has been employed to portray Ndindi Nyoro as a mole or a government project,” he said.
“ When I served as the Budget and Appropriation Committee chairman and DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua as the DCP who was closer to Ruto. DCP Secretary General John Methu to stop misleading Kenyans and instead make statements that would strengthen the opposition and address the country’s challenges,” he said.
