The former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has supported Purity Wangui Ngirici to Kirinyaga Gubernational seat, while wooing her to join Umoja  na Maendeleo Party (UMP).

Speaking during a meet people tour in Kirinyaga, Mwangaza assured Ngirici of full support , and that she was not ready to betray her as she has been done before,.

The UMP party leader also said that this is the time Mt.Kenya people start embracing and joining  a party of their own, that will be a vehicle that will take them to parliament.

“My sister Ms.Ngirici I was with you in parliament and I know your capabilities, when it comes to a party don’t be worried UMP is here to support you and also be rest assured that I am not ready to betray you as this other party’s do to women”Ms. Kawira assured Ms.Ngirici.

Ms.Kawira who accompanied Ms.Ngirici on her “Ziara Mashinani tour” transversed Kabare, Baragwi, Karumandi saying that she has a ten day plan in the constituency before going to other constituencies in the county.

They mounted a sharp political offense to deconstruct UDA in Mt.Kenya, for dividing the region for their selfish interest.

“We have some leaders from the region who are being used to divide Mt Kenya, I have teamed up with Ngirici and we are going to deconstruct UDA ,and make it less popular. Leaders in Mt Kenya should support a party from their our region that is not going to sideline, or even get intimidated”Ms.Kawira continued to urge leaders from the region.

The two leaders have continued to defend former president Uhuru Kenyatta from kenya Kwanza government  accusations urging residents to respect his political counsel and legacy.

“Mt.Kenya people remember what we did to Uhuru when he was the chairman for the Azimio part, we disobeyed him, didn’t listen to him today we are all regretting after we were conned, let us listen and respect his advice, he is going to save the region” The two leaders said.

Ngirici said that during Uhuru’s regime the county managed to get unmatched development and that he(Uhuru) should be respectted and the attacks are supposed to stop.

“Uhuru should be respected and attacks on him should also stop.being a former leader he has a voice in briging stability to Kenyan politcs”Ngirici added,”Uhru remains a very senior political figure in the region and his voice cannot be ignored”.

According to Ngirici, attempts to silence Uhuru from commenting on national and regional matters would not succeed because the former president still commands influence and respect across the mountain.

She further aligned herself politically with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and opposition leader Martha Karua, warning that leaders opposing their message risk political rejection by Mt Kenya voters.

“Anyone going against the advice of Uhuru, Gachagua and Martha Karua will be swept away from the political space by Mt Kenya voters,” she warned.

She cautioned politicians attempting to create divisions within the region, insisting that Mt Kenya remains one political bloc and would resist leaders promoting internal rivalry.

She also revealed why she fell out with the Kenya Kwanza administration, claiming she could not support a government that she accused of attacking religious institutions and interfering with freedom of worship.

“In Kenya the constitution supports freedom of worship, when you see a leader attacking the church, know there is a big problem,I fell out with the Kenya Kwanza administration because of that despite being betrayed before” she said.

Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, criticised the current administration, saying leaders must stand up against poor governance and defend their voters who are at a blink of collapse due to high cost of living.

Kawira claimed that her impeachment was politically instigated by some powerful cartels who were threatened by her leadership.

Ngirici vowed to continue traversing Kirinyaga County popularising her agenda and consolidating political support despite intimidations saying that residents must be left out to meet and listen to their leaders.

“I will not be intimidated or cowed, Kirinyaga people must be left out to meet and listen to their leaders and also know their agenda, manifesto, security agents stop being used to intimidate me, I will crisscross the county despite the intimidations”Ngirici added.
