A delegation from Nigeria pitched a camp in Murang’a for benchmarking on health care delivery through innovation and strategic investment.
The high-level delegation from Niger State, in Nigeria, was introduced in automation of health services,
on a benchmarking mission aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery through innovation and strategic investment, mobile dialysis truck initiative among others.
Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata said the visit focused on learning and exchanging insights on the county’s progressive, improved healthcare systems.
The team was interested in the transformative telemedicine programme, which has significantly expanded access to specialist care, Kang’ataCare, universal health coverage initiative; and teleradiology, among others.
The team also explored Murang’a’s automation of health services, a system that has improved efficiency, transparency, and patient experience across health facilities.
Kang’ata reaffirmed the commitment to innovation in healthcare delivery, leveraging technology and strategic partnerships to ensure our residents have access to affordable, quality, and efficient healthcare services.

“ Murang’a is pleased to share experiences and learn from our counterparts as we work towards strengthening health systems across our regions,” said Kang’ata.
Health Chief Officer Eliud Maina said many counties have visited Murang’a for benchmarking in efforts to improve health care in their areas.
“ Automation has assisted towards improving health services in Murang’a county, through the support of Governor Kang’ata,” said Maina.
The delegation included Niger’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Usman Abdullahi Imam, Executive Director of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Junaidu Inuwa, and Iliya Laban Danlami.
