A section of leaders in Mt Kenya have asked the ODM leadership to stop pushing the region into a tight corner in a strategy to occupy the position of the deputy president held by Prof Kithuire Kindiki.
The leaders led by the Public Service Cabinet Secretary Godfrey Ruku, Embu Governor Mbarire, and Mt. Kenya East MPs declared their stand in support of Prof Kithure Kindiki whom they said was a national leader interested in serving all Kenyans.
Speaking at FGCK in Evurore in Mbeere North, Embu County, in the presence of the Deputy President they said they will not entertain baseless talks by uttered by the ODM Leader Oburu Oginga pertaining the position held by Kindiki.
They said they will take on ODM Leader Oburu Oginga over what they term vexatious and provoking persistent clamour for the Deputy President’s position as if it was vacant.
“ ODM Leader should stop undermining Prof Kindiki as he will remain in the postion, “ said the CS.
Mbarire said the position was occupied by Kindiki who has proved to be a nationalist visiting various parts of the country.
“ Kindiki has defended Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, declaring that leaders allied to the government will not relinquish the position amid a growing political interest in the office,” said Mbarire.
The Deputy President described himself as a seasoned politician who understands when to engage in politics and when to focus on service delivery.
“As veteran politicians, we know when to talk, when to do politics, and when to work for the people. We will not engage in idle talk every day because we have a lot to do for the people,” he noted.
