As the long, chilly month of July fades, the dawn of August breathes a new rhythm across the cool slopes of Mt. Kenya. Meru County becomes the national stage as over 100,000 students from all 47 counties of Kenya converge with one mission: to celebrate music, culture, and creativity.

The 97th Kenya National Music Festival, running from August 4th to 16th, 2025, is more than a competition—it’s a cultural symphony echoing the heartbeat of the nation.Festival Highlights
Theme: Enhancing the Creative Economy Through Artistic Expression for Sustainable Development

Opening Ceremony: August 2 – Meru School

Performance Days: August 4–10

Gala Events: August 11–12

State Concert: August 13

In a generation increasingly drawn to screens and digital content, the Kenya Music Festival offers a refreshing return to voice, rhythm, and soul. From the forest canopies to the snow-dusted peaks, even the birds of the mountain seem to rehearse—as if learning the national anthems afresh.

Where icy winds once silenced the valleys, the vibrant voices of Kenya’s youth will now echo—warming the land and melting away July’s winter chill.

The mountain is alive—with music.
