Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has told off the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)party over its demands to have the deputy president position in the yet to begin talks aimed at forming a coalition, saying the seat has an able occupant who has served his boss and President, William Ruto diligently.
Speaking in Chuka when he attended the burial of County Sectretary Alex Muratha’s mother, Priscillah Muratha, Njuki insisted that the deputy president’s seat should be off the table completely as there was no tangible reason as to why he should be targeted.
Consequently, he noted that the fragmented ODM cannot make demands now, reminding the leadership of the numbers the Mt. Kenya region has and what their shunning would mean.
However, he says must the demands persist, then the ruling UDA party should welcome the idea of donating Kindiki to ODM and have him retained as deputy president.
The governor says Kindiki’s position is non – negotiable in any talks for a coalition
