The Governor Irungu Kang’ata brokered a deal with the SHA to release Sh47 million to the Murang’a County Government for the services rendered in the health facilities.
The kitty would be remitted to Murang’a following a high powered meeting held between Kang’ata and SHA CEO Dr Mary Mwangangi following the unpaid dues estimated at millions of shillings.
Kang’ata in a communication said the Sh 47 million would be released by January 14 and the balance cleared later.
“SHA agreed it owes Muranga Ksh 207M- it will release partially Sh 47 million by January 14th and balance later,” he said when he met Dr Mwangagi in her SHA headquarters in Nairobi
Muranga needs these resources to buy drugs, he said,while SHA is bound to release Sh 11.3 million for 113 households under last expense for Kangatacare in a week’s time.
Earlier, he said Murang’a was in demand of Sh327 million but after reconciliation and among was reduced to Sh 207 million.
