It was a day full of dramas in most parts of the country as Genzs’ battled with the police as they vented their anger on abduction and killings as they celebrated the Genz’ first anniversary protests.
In the today’s incident left nine dead and over 200 injured during the running battles between the youth and the police.
Also police officers were victims as scored were injured as they engaged the protestors in unending running battles across the country.

Public Service Vehicles (PSV) in most parts remained grounded in their yards as they trekked long distances to accomplish their mission.

In Nairobi, Nyeri, Nanyuki,among other towns, witnessed massive destruction after the demonstrations turned chaotic.
In Nairobi, hell broke loose after the youth from Weiteithie and Kiambu arrived and caused mayhem along the Thika Superhighway.

Police Stations at Ol Kalau, Makongeni and Kikuyu were razed down as the running battles intensified. Kikuyu two public facilities among them Kikuyu law courts were also burned.
The Ol Kalau police station was razed down in protest after a youth was shot and pronounced dead at J M Kariuki Hospital.

Hell broke loose after the irate mourners carried the body of the youth to the police station before setting the facility on fire.
In Nyeri town, Naivas Supermarket was swept clean by the protestors by the Genzs’ who had taken control of the town, where one was shot dead.
Initially the gangs were heading to break into Chieni Supermarket belonging to Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina before they took a different direction.

In Nanyuki town, there was after they broke into Best Lady, Bata Shop as they attempted to break into a supermarket near the Nanyuki bus terminus failed as they were repulsed by a contingent of the police.
In Murang’a, the protestors lit bonfires before they engaged the police in running battles.
Some of the journalists were roughed up, with some losing their equipment to the protestors.
