Mount Kenya University Drama team storms to victory again

Mount Kenya University (MKU) was declared best overall winning University and Most prolific University at the just concluded Kenya National drama festival 2025.
MKU won the prestigious overall winning and most prolific University awards second year in a row after managing the same fate in 2024 Drama festivals.

The University achieved this mean feat after impressing in its presentations winning:

• Winning cultural creative dance
• Winning Narrative
• Winning stand-up Comedy
• Winning solo dance
• winning Best documentary on equity bank
• Winning screen narrative
• Winning screen choral verse
• 2nd best documentary on equity bank
• 2nd best advert on equity bank
• 2nd best feature film
• 3rd best advert on equity bank
• 3rd position spoken word
• 3rd position play
  The University management is most committed in naturing and exposing this many great talents, this was well demonstrated when the University Vice-Chancellor- Prof. Deogratius JANGANYI led a delegation of university management to watch and provide advice to university drama team items at the pre festival gala performances. key to this was when is encouraged to students to keep running their talent dream alive as they push their academic excellence journey. he went further to ensure the students faced with ongoing University exams that proper arrangements will be put in place to see them seat their exams after ably representing the university, this was a big morale boost to a number of able students who were contemplating to forgo the competition due to exams clashing with the festival calendar.

  over 20 Universities participated, namely;- Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi, University of Embu, Meru University, Zetech University, Kabarak University, Jomo kenyatta University among many others.
