Kenya Seed chairperson Wangui Ngirici has warned politicians from Kirinyaga county to stop causing chaos in funerals.

Wangui said it was embarrassing for the politicians to fuel chaos in funerals, saying the vice should be stopped, and provide respect to  the bereaving families.

Speaking at Kiangungu Primary School in Kirinyaga Central constituency, she explained that it was shameful that some politicians in Kirinyaga county have been marked as the troubleshooters for castigating chaos in the funerals.

,”Stop bringing shame to our Kirinyaga  county,it’s very shameful that in all funerals you attend there has to be chaos, respect the bereaving families,” said without naming names.

The chairperson urged the politicians to organise their  meeting, and stop waiting for funerals saying there are very many areas where they can hold their functions..

“We have very many grounds and fields where meetings can be  held, hold your meetings stop waiting for funerals for you to hijack”She said

On Wednesday at Gathaithi at the border of Kirinyaga and Mathira  during the burial service of Mathira Nyakinyua group leader of the late Ane Wanjiru, chaos erupted when area MP Eric Wa Mumbi stood ,accusing former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua of neglecting  Wanjiru, when she was sick.

The sentiments angered  the former DP supporters  who turned on the Mathira MP.

Other leaders present were Senator Kamau Murango and Kirinyaga MP Njeri Maina.

Ngirici termed the incident as unfortunate as politicians could not show respect to the clergy during the burial ceremony.

“It is a shame that a leader can grab a microphone from the clergy which is an abomination,” she observed.
