The election of   John Chebochok at Tegat/Toror tea factory  as director has been nullified.

Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr Paul Rono says in a letter Chebochok ceased being a KTDA director following the swearing-in of other directors.

Chebochok, a former James Finlay contractor, was exposed by the BBC in 2023 for allegedly sexually exploiting women.

Action by the PS follows a petition by more than  3,311 people to IEBC to revoke his election as a director at Toror tea factory.

The petition was initiated by Kerry Mwita, just hours after the just concluded Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) election in 54 zones as Chebochok’s alleged involvement in the BBC’s sex for work scandal as the reason.
