Murang’a County Government made a land mark after it established a pediatric autism centre to ease challenge on families with members in need of care and treatment.

It was a sigh followed by joy as second lady Pastor Dorcas Gachagua officially opened the facility at Kirwara sub district hospital accompanied by Governor Irungu Kang’ata.
Commissioning the centre, Pastor Dorcas lauded Governor Kang’ata for establishment of the facility designed for caring for children with autism proposing advocacy to enable people with autism conditions to get stipend from the government.

“ We also need a serious facility for people with autism and cerebral palsy so that they can bring their children and parents to have some time off,” she said.
The Governor pleaded with parents not to hide their children with autism and disabled.
“We have opened up a well stocked and the best physiotherapy unit to take care of the children backed with experts,” said the governor.

New physiotherapy unit it will treat autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, nerves disorders, arthritis amongst children and elderly.
