Kigumo to make a stride in health sector

The government is committed to upgrading the Kigumo Health centre that stalled due to lack of finances.
 Health Principal Secretary Josephine Mburu said the Sh400 million health facility  will be completed in April.
 Mburu  who was accompanied by Kigumo MP Joseph Munyoro spoke during a tour of the facility, saying it was 78 percent complete, and the government will release the amount for the facility.
 The facility is designed  for an upgrade to the Level four  status hospital that  will serve vast areas in Kigumo and Kandara sub counties.
“The is designed to have the project completed, and will have a fully equipped maternity wing, surgical wards and a mortuary,” she said.
 Munyoro said President William Ruto had assured him the proposed KIGUMO KMTC campus will be a reality once they procure land.



 The lawmaker said  Ruto administration has a soft spot for Kigumo owing to the pledged to have the projects desired by the locals accomplished.
“ The president  has committed to personally commission the KMTC campus once it is complete and the leadership is looking for enough land,” the MP said.
The Kigumo Technical and Vocational Institute, the MP said it has registered 700 students and  will be the most populated in Mt Kenya region.
The MP pledged to sponsor the first 200 learners in a move to support enhanced technical courses among the youth.
“ Am pleased  with the demand  for the technical courses,” said Munyoro.
