There is a huge cry in Kiambu over the declining  state of the health sector with senior managers accused of sabotage.
The residents are calling on Governor Kimani Wamatangi  to intervene  to save the sector sinking into the drain.

Wamatangi when he visited on Friday last week  got a rude shock after he found a drug store closed, as the workers refused to open it for him to confirm if there were drugs.

The MRI, CT Scan,  Theater  are among the key facilities  where services have collapsed leaving the patients  diverted to private facilities.
Insiders in the health sector divulged to The Mountain Journal that Health Chief Officer Dr Patrick Nyaga, and Dr Robert Muchena, the  Thika Level Five  Medical Superintendent  are behind the downfall of the health sector.
They alleged  that the two are connected with the Galaxy Medicare facility located near Thika Level Five Hospital.
“ Before the appointment  of Muchena, Thika Hospital was providing effective service  delivery, Presently the locals are referred to the private facility,” said Monica Nyaga.
James Karumba  observes that the facility had the best Endoscopy Laparoscopic Unit, and Laboratories, which are a shadow of their past.
“MRI machine was functional, CT Scan were functioning and drugs were always available but the v investigations on to why Galaxy Hospital has opened endoscopy laparoscopic unit.
“This is the facility  the patients in need of the service are referred to,” said Karumba.
Another insider said  the laboratory department was only 40 percent active  as the majority of the tests are referred to the nearby private facilities.
Njambi Mburu, a resident of Thika town, says MRI  services have been crippled  due to lack of printing papers.
” The Governor should crack a whip on those frustrating services at the public health facility,” said Njambi.
When Wamatangi visited the hospital following  a hue and outcry from Kiambu residents, found the MRI Unit had only registered two patients during the day.
As the governor was at the facility two patients  from the medical wards were brought  for MRI service, which  was  established as a ploy  to hoodwink the visiting delegation.
