MKU to support Nafula to ensure she gets a degree

Milly Nafula, who scored A- (minus) 15 years but failed to join university, has  many reasons to smile after Mount Kenya University offered her a fully-paid scholarship to study Bachelor of  Medicine and Bachelor of surgery commencing September 2022 MKU founder and chairman Prof Simon Gicharu confirmed that Nafula has been offered the scholarship to actualise her dream of becoming a medical doctor and the university will support Tuition , accommodation and book expenses with a full scholarship worth 3.5 million.

Presenting the scholarship today in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County  , Prof Gicharu said that the Board of Directors  will support Nafula by funding her education and provide her with other emoluments. She was also bequeathed with a piece of land and a house has been completed for her. Double blessings.

“This will enable her to actualise her dreams,” said Prof Gicharu.

Nafula promised to work hard and make MKU proud and made a firm commitment to serve the community after graduation.

Members of the community and education stakeholders present appreciated the support given to Nafula and acknowledged that touching lives calls for the community to be standing in for one another.

“I’m going to work hard and make my sponsor proud,” she said.

The mother of two vowed to work hard and excel in her medical course and eliminate the poverty in the family and impact positively on the community

“I know I have a huge expectation ahead of me but I’m determined,” she said.
