Best county assembly speakers unveiled in a report

Murang’a County Assembly Speaker Johnson Mukuha was ranked the best countrywide out of 10 others , following a survey report based on their performance.
Kenya Track Survey report , 10 speakers took the lead positions with Justus Kilesi Ngossor ranked the second, followed by Philemon Cheruiyot( Nandi), Stephen Wachira Waiganjo(Nyandarua),Charles Lokioto Ewoi (Turkana), Abdille Yusuf (Wajir). The team is reported to have visited all the 47 counties during the study
Mukuha in the research was voted the best following the county assembly working on the successful automation finance systems, and activated E-Parliament.
“Also Murang’a county assembly enabled the successful investors’ conference, and amended the liquor laws to allow the society involvement in the issuance of bar licenses,” read part of the report.
A community leader Mr Paul Kamau congratulated Mukuha for the ranking saying regular surveys should be conducted to ensure the office holders work for the interest of the community.
“ The community led by the religious leaders had been upset by the increase of the liquor outlets in the villages and near the schools,” said Kamau, a resident of Muchungucha village.
Nyandarua speaker was ranked in the third position for overseeing the legislation to enhance potato farming and cooperative marketing. Also championed public health and sanitation services.
Others were Edin Wario( Marsabit), Charles Murungaru( Kiambu), Seth Mwatela ( Kwale), and George Okode( Siaya).
Okode oversaw the legislation improving fisheries and agriculture in Lake Region and strengthened oversight of the projects and curbed misuse of funds.
