This time round the Kinyona MCA slot has attracted several but notably there are four giants in the face off during the campaign period starting in March. The ward dynamic based on candidate being supported for the MP and Governor will play on who among the four will carry the day.
Not forgetting the ward heavy weights being the home turf of Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia and Murang’a Governor Personal Assistant Muturi wa Karanja among several others in public and private sector.
Kinyona is also the home ground of Murang’a MP Sabina Chege eying for the governorship position.

In the race there is the incumbent Ruoho Wangechi , nominated MCA Ms Ann Kigo, Ms Liz Mbugua and Joel Muthama.
The two females are giving the men a run for their money and ideas as they are crossing the ridges of the wards, and extending in the nearby Kangari and Kigumo wards to solidify their political might.
The residents said they will settle on any who will work towards brightening their future as they had been hoodwinked in the past and ending suffering.
Peter Kamau says the residents want a leader who will assure them Murang’a County Government bursaries will be distributed to the needy as Governor Mwangi wa Iria has demonstrated.
“ My concern is that the poor children and the future of this village will be considered for the bursary.

Mercy Wanjiru from Boro village says she is interested in women leadership as they have suffered for long.

“ When a woman is in a better position, issues pertaining to health care, water and education are put in consideration,” she said.
