The former Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel has started his one year sentence.
The controversial politician found himself in problems after chaos that reigned at Harambee House when leaders went for a meeting with the former Interior and National Coordination Cabinet Secretary to deliberate on the cause of conflict in Laikipia in2016.
He was sent to jail without an optional fine after he was found guilty of causing grievous harm to his rival Ms Sarah Korere, now the Laikipia North MP.
Senior Principal Magistrate Hellen Onkwani sent him to prison as he dismissed his defence.
The MP was in 2014 thrown out of an international airline after he boarded allegedly drunk and declared uncooperative by the plane crew at JKIA.
The former lawmaker is among those getting ready to join the Laikipia North campaigns to unseat Korere.
