Halima Yusuf Mucheke is a brand in Meru politics and being among the few women entrusted in leadership owing to their passion to help.
In 2017, she was nominated by the Jubilee Party to represent workers interests in parliament, while she maintained her links with her supporters.

She was nominated by the ruling party after she lost the Meru County Representative seat to MP Kawira Mwangaza.

Halima has been a household name in Meru politics after she joined Woman Representative race in 2013and lost to MP Florence Kajuju. She was nominated to parliament and today she is a member of the powerful security committee.
Jane Kathambi says Halima has not abandoned her people as she initiated empowerment programmes for the youth, women and persons living with disabilities.
Her challenger Imenti MP Rahim Dawood is perceived to be heading to contest Meru Governorship slot after having served in two terms.
Her challengers would be former MP Silas Muriuki,Elias Murega and Beatrice Karwitha.
