The Kenya Rural Roads
Authority (KERRA) has commenced the construction of Sh2 billion roads in
Nyandarua County.
This is after the
project to tarmac the 44 kilometres of road was handed over to the contractor
to commence work to alleviate the suffering the Nyandarua people have been
going through for ages.

constituency will benefit with 16.5 kilometres of road while the neighboring Ol
Kalou constituency will get 27.5 kilometres of tarmac road.
The tarmac will
traverse through Boiman – Charagita-Pasenga-Silanga-Gachwe -Kwa Mumbi, with the
work expected to take 36 months.

Michael Muchira said the long-awaited road does not only bring joy to the
residents but will be a key infrastructure which will ease transport from the
agricultural rich region.
“Once complete,
the road will open up the area that has for a long time lagged behind in
development. Our farmers will now deliver their food produce to the market with
ease” he noted.
He said that the
project will go a long way in ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of
fresh farm produce to the markets, with farmers enjoying better prices.
