Chaos inside the schools after the media shut

By The Mountain Journal Crew

The students from the poor background are
facing it rough inside the boarding institutions, due to lack of finances.

Majority of the learners with school fees balances have been sent home
with parents’ pleas rejected by the administrations.

A section of the heads interviewed detailed
the challenges they are going through as the government despite directive on the  re-opening the institutions, was yet
to remit resources to facilitate free learning.

“The stores are empty  and less than 40 percent of the parents have
paid their fees,” said one of the heads.

They hinted that the majority of the parents due to
Covid 19 pandemic,   are working on
transfer of their students from the boarding to day schools near their homes,
as a cost measure.

The Mountain Journal learnt that the schools
are using tricks sending the learners home to avoid  the media, through hiring of public service
vehicles destined to certain direction.

For example the learners to Nairobi, Nakuru,
Nyahururu, Nanyuki, Mombasa board one vehicle in
accordance with the route, to avoid the media.

 This week,
county directors of education, we learnt  have warned the heads of learning
institutions  to allow the press inside
into the schools.

The warning following the government caught off
guard by the media of the preparedness in the re-opening of schools
following  billions of shillings
allocated  to mitigate the disease.
