Nairobi county assembly will conduct an interview
on Ms Ann Kananu Mwenda for the slot of deputy
governor.
Kananu had been picked as the nominee for the
position by the former governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko who was impeached by the
county assembly and decision affirmed by the senate.
The assembly advertised vetting of
the candidate after a suit that had barred the exercise was withdrawn.
Clerk of the assembly Mr Edward
Gichana has ordered her to be available for vetting by the appointment
committee on January 15 at 9 am.
A week ago, the Speaker of the county assembly
Benson Mutura was Sworn to steer the
county for a 60 days period, as the troubled Sonko had no deputy, after the resignation of Polycap Igathe.
The notice
by the Clerk is a blow to candidates who had declared interest to
replace Sonko at City Hall.
