The Great Northern
Kenya Corridor will pass through Karatina town,
Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has
said.
The 84 kilometers road will Pass through the
town, with the authority’s Director General Eng Peter Mundinia clarifying to
erase confusion from the public, that the town will not benefit from the Sh40billion project.

the design of the Dual Carriageway would exclude the major town along the
superhighway corridor.

diversions not to disrupt the flow of vehicles once the project kicks off.
KeNHA has appointed two contractors to work on
the first phase of the project.
Last week, Transport and Infrastructure
Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said the contractors will do an additional 48
kilometer to tarmack the markets centres
that are on the highway.
A
trauma center will also be constructed in Makutano area as part of the social corporate strategy
by the contractors.
