KANDARA: HOLY MATRIMONY ENCOURAGED

Marriage is the
foundation of the society, it is the cornerstone of a strong nation.

Marriage
also creates selflessness as it’s founded on the basis of mutual understanding, and jointly sharing of resources between the couples, their children, families, and the
society at large.

 Murang’a
County Government Attorney Mbiyu Kamau said there is need to protect the
union of marriage by providing resources and encouragement to the young people,
who are willing to tie the knot of holy matrimony.

  He was speaking
at Makeji PEFA Church in Kandara, Murang’a,  when he witnessed exchanging of vows between
Hannah Wambui and Moses Muiruri Ndung’u.

It was a joyous occasion when the locals  heard words of wisdom given to the
young people in marriage by the elders.

“It is a
pleasure that today am witnessing a marriage of people which has been
rare.  Let today’s event be an opening ceremony that in the future we
shall witness more weddings,” said Mr Mbiyu.

 He
regretted that Kenya has witnessed a decline of marriages as many young people claim to be poor and unable to care for a family.

“President
Uhuru Kenyatta has moved to improve economic development by opening rural areas
with good all-weather roads, provision of water and electricity. Our youth should take the
new opportunities arising from these developments,” he said.

 He added that combined efforts
of the couple improve economic status, following the saying ‘two is better than
one’.

In the past two years, Mbiyu
has been involved in community development programmes.

James Karanja a resident of Muruka
ward said the lawyer  has  remained active in sharing with people
affected by the effects of Covid 19.

“When leaders are playing politics
Mbiyu has been among those coming to aid of the poor people,” said
Karanja.
