Twenty three year old
was celebrated in Murang’a town after he captured a 11 feet python.
Eston Kimani who has
in the past captured two other reptiles moved into action after Kenya Wildlife
Rangers (KWS) took a long to provide a solution.
Kimani was called by
the residents to assist in tracing the snake which was barely 300 metres from
the KWS camp.
He arrived as the KWS
rangers were contemplating killing the reptile, as they could not trace it.
Kimani recounted how
he struggled to capture the reptile and blocked it from heading back to its
hide out.
“I struggled to
capture through the tail and assisted to take it to the KWS camp for custody,”
he said as he recounted the 4 pm incident.
Kimani said he was
interested to join KWS due to his interest with reptiles.
A resident Peter Chege
said the government should consider employing Kimani as he was of much help to
the locals when need arose.
“The young man has
been instrumental in capturing reptiles which are rare in Murang’a town. He
should be appreciated due to his dedication and effort,” said Chege, a resident
of Kandundu village.
