Wachuuzi Sacco will be operatised in Murang’a County targeting hawkers.
Governor Mwangi wa Iria said the small scale traders estimated at 200,000 designed to benefit from the tailor programme.
The hawkers bill, he said was frustrated by senate but Murang’a County Assembly has passed the Wachuuzi bill that allowed supporting the small scale traders financially.
In his New Year message, the governor said also the 2,000 secondary school students under the county sponsorship programme will get their facilitation.
The education programme is dubbed Nyota yetu which was initiated by the government to cater for the interest of the bright students from poor families.
” This year all will be geared towards uplifting living standards of the poor, for the interest of the poor,” said the governor.
He distributed New year gift to more than 10,000 people in the sub counties, where he called on the well to do to support the poor.
Last year, Murang’a County Government distributed free masks to the people, to help stop spread of Covid 19
