The government has bowed out to pressure to review the higher education funding model over the fear of the university students strike.
Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Julius Ogamba owing to the exerted pressure has constituted two committees to look into the matter.
The committees were formed yesterday as the CS pleaded with the university students to call off their strike.
“The Ministry of education will integrate the students more in the decision making,” said the CS.
Upon formation of the committees, the student body leaders called off their planned strike.
University of Nairobi students leader Ramesh Saxena said the strike was called off to give the state time to address their concerns.
The committees will incorporate the students and mae recommendations for improvement
