Nyeri county setting the pace on Covid 19 vaccination

Nyeri Health workers tasked with administering COVID-19 vaccines convened for a review meeting to strategise on the second phase.

The participants were all vaccine administrators from the 17 vaccinating sites spread across the 8 sub-counties. 

The Director of Health Services, Dr Nelson Muriu lauded the mutual working collaboration between the Department, the health facilities that has seen a successful first phase of vaccine administration and the general public following the success in the first phase.

“Amref Health Africa in Kenya has continued to support our county especially during this pandemic and we cannot overlook their immense contribution,” he noted

The meeting aimed at engaging the health workers in giving feedback of their experiences and the success stories.

“This will ensure that all vaccination sites are at par with any dynamics as well as exchange ideas on the innovative practices to improve effectiveness of the solutions provided,” Dr Muriu said.

Program manager at Amref Health Africa Jackline Kiarie, hailed the County Government for creating an enabling environment for the implementation of the project’s activities within the County.

Health Services Chief officer, Newton Wambugu officially kicked off the meeting and applauded the health workers for their resilience and patience in ensuring that work is perfectly done despite the challenges.
