Leaders spent the labour day with the families affected by landslides in Kiganjo village in Mathioya, Murang’a.
The leaders were led by KEMSA Chairman Irungu Nyakera and former MP Peter Kimari who distributed the food stuff to the families accommodated at Ngutu Primary School after they were directed to relocate to safe grounds.
Nyakera called on residents to offer support to the needy persons affected by the calamity.
“We urged the residents to heed to government directives of moving to safer grounds during this period. We also condoled with the family of the six people including three children who died following the landslides,” said Nyakera.
They visited a day after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and MPs Ndindi Nyoro( Kiharu), Edwin Mugo( Mathioya), Betty Maina(Murang’a) and Senator Joe Nyutu separately visited them on Tuesday afternoon and mourned with the families before distributing food stuff .
