The Education Principal Secretary Prof Julius Bitok has been transferred to the department of tourism barely days after he pleaded with the senior school principals to negotiate with defiant learners when they would sit for their examinations.
The transfer effected by the Head of the Public Service, Felix Kosei, was reported after the Basic Education PS Prof Bitok attended a meeting chaired by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in Nairobi that centred on unrest in learning institutions. The education officials, who included the Education Cabinet, Secondary Dr Julius Migos Ogamba, briefed the DP on the situation.
Bitok swapped offices with his Tourism counterpart, John Lekakenya Olultuaa.
