It is an abuse for a leading hotel in Kenya to
be importing tonnes of potatoes for its outlets countrywide when the local
produce is being fed to livestock following alleged substandard product.

 KFC
revealed it was importing potatoes used in the outlets from Egypt citing
quality of the produce alleging Kenyas’ farmers are far below.

 The revelation
opened a can of worms as the locals took to twitter calling on the Ministry
of Agriculture  to investigate the
matter.

 After the
social media platform condemnations Kenyans said they preferred eating chips
mwitu saying they are better than those bought
from the internationally ranked facility.

Samson the Hustler took the food chain  to his social media account  saying
the Kenyans have been taken for a ride for long  as the alleged international standards
blocked the firm from buying the locally grown potatoes.

“Say no to KFC, they can’t buy our potatoes because
of international QA reasons,” said the Hustler.

 Farmers
from Nyandarua were first to condemn  the importation citing the county has the
capacity to supply the requirement for the KFC outlets as hundreds of tons
were going into waste.

KFC is the largest international chicken franchise serving
the world famous Colonel Sanders’ secret recipe for over 60 years.
