Farmers Party moves to Kenya Kwanza Coalition

Farmers party has joined Kenya Kwanza political coalition
fronted by Deputy President William Ruto.

 The party leadership in a press statement said it has
moved to the coalition fronted by Ruto and partners’ Musalia Mudavadi and Moses
Wetangula allied to Amani National Congress and Ford Kenya respectively.

 In a statement signed by Party Secretary General John
Kahura stated that effective March 23, they have joined the Kenya Kwanza Coalition as a principal, as it believes in having farmers first, and after
lengthy and deep  deliberations with Ruto was assured that farmers 
stand a better chance.


The party has tasked the national  chairperson  Irungu Nyakera, also eying Murang’a gubernatorial slot to champion  the welfare
of the farmers and ensure that critical party policy positions on agriculture
in Kenya are achieved, understood, and accepted across the coalition” read part
of the statement sent to our Newsroom.

 Nyakera is among the figures that lobbied for reforms in
tea and is presently pushing the same in the coffee sub sector.


 The
former Principal Secretary a week ago appointed Lawyer Catherine Wairimu Mugo
his running mate after she dropped her bid for Murang’a Woman
Representative.
