Former Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau eying for the Murang’a gubernatorial seat says he has a track record of supporting the people to improve their living standards.

Kamau is eying the slot on Jubilee Party ticket after he unveiled it last week at Muthithi PCEA church hall in Kigumo.

In a talk show with a vernacular television station, Kamau said he assisted a student whose parents had no means of sending her to Ruchu Girls High School for her education.

He recounted how he moved to the rescue of the girl who passed her KCSE and joined Moi University to pursue law studies.

“Am pleased to have touched the lives of the girl who is a leading lawyer of the high court,” said Kamau.

He also hinted how he assisted a boy from Kigumo who had repeated his primary school once to allow his parents to look for money to take him to Njiiri Boys, his dream school.

“It was unfortunate that the boy repeated   standard seven but when he completed his KCPE the father was not in a position to send him to Njiiri. I was alerted about the plight of the boy,” said Kamau.

He completed at Njiiri and now he is in California in US, added Kamau

On development of Murang’a, he said, when he served in the Nairobi Metropolitan docket, he ensured Murang’a was incorporated in the programmes that are presently being worked on.

“Apart from turning around the development of Nairobi city, I ensured Murang’a County had roads done by the Nairobi Metropolitan agency, street lighting among other notable projects.

He cited that Murang’a County Cremaries (MCC)will be improved and a board of directors appointed  to ensure it will be run in the professional way.
