Gatanga: Plans for Mbugiti to get clean water

 Leadership in Gatanga has kicked off
exploration for additional water to serve residents in Mbugiti location.

 The leadership led by MP Joseph Nduati Ngugi
toured Kimakimia forest in search of where intake  to fetch water  will be constructed through support of Athi
Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA).

  Community group namely Mbugiti location
irrigation and drinking water project has been in search of clean water for
decades, despite being located on the slopes of Aberdare Forest.

The MP said a 42
kilometres pipeline will be constructed from deep in the forest  to the serve the residents.

“ Am committed to ensure
Gatanga people before 2022 will have access to clean water, which they have
been looking for since the country attained independence,” said the MP.

 Gatanga residents, he said  will be connected with clean water through
connection  with Gatanga Water Supply
Project  by Athi Water  to serve Ndunyu Chege, Mbari ya Ruga, Gitiri,
Njai-ini, Mukurwe, Thuita, Nyaga.

 Other areas to benefit are Mukarara,
Kihumbu-ini,  Kiunyu, Thika Greens,Githingiri  and ,Bahati Estate  with more than 40,000
Households.
