Kenyan based in US starts a college charging Sh1,000 per month

A Kenyan living in the US has facilitated construction of a tertiary institution designed to transform the locality he was born in, as appreciating the community that nurtured him before relocation.

Pastor Peter Njoroge Chege of the Faith Baptist Church said the tertiary facility in Mahianyu village in Laikipia west constituency offers training in ICT, Dress Making, Hospitality and electrical.

 Njoroge spoke when he distributed Christmas goodies to his neighbours among them orphans, persons with special needs and widows from Mahianyu, Ndogino and  Kiahiti villages in Igwamiti ward.

He said his friends and congregations of the church in the US have been on assistance towards the establishment of the training centre awaiting registration of students in the coming year.

 Within the institution  a solar powered bole hole serves the community  for free.

“ Despite being a US citizen  and a pastor, every Christmas I must be home to share gifts with my community targeting the vulnerable persons,” said Njoroge, adding that he has childhood memories  with the villagers.
