Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has watered down the National Infrastructure Fund by President William Ruto, describing it as a fanfare designed to increase the national debt.
He said the debt
He said the fund is a strategy to overburden Kenyans with more debts and ridicule the spirit left by the former President the late Mwai Kibaki, who, in his rule, only acquired a Sh 1.62 trillion debt.
Speaking during the launch of Mwai Kibaki Senior School in Gaturu ward in his Kiharu constituency, he said the country was borrowing more than Sh 4 billion daily, with Sh 1.5 trillion borrowed annually.
He said President Ruto administration has betrayed the spirit left behind by the late Mwai Kibaki for developing the country through borrowed money, which will overburden Kenyans in the future.
“ Kibaki used the national budget to develop the country, and what he borrowed in his 10 years has been acquired as loans by the government in a year,” said Ndindi.
“Kenyans are hoodwinked that the fund will cater for the building of the roads, installation of electricity, among other development programmes,” said Ndindi.
He lauded Kibaki and Kenneth Matiba as leaders who sacrificed themselves to fight for the interests of Kenyans.
“ I call upon the leaders that the Northern Corridor from Nairobi, Nanyuki, Isiolo to Moyale be named after Mwai Kibaki over his acts that salvaged the national economy through road construction, installation of electricity. Let’s look back and appreciate leaders such as Mwai Kibaki for their effective deeds,” said Ndindi.

On Kenneth Matiba, he said, a vocational training centre in Wangu ward in Kahuhia ward will be named after him.
At the same time, he dared a leader out to frustrate him; he was not afraid, as he would continue opening the projects funded by the Kiharu NG CDF, after the Monday morning incident in Kahuro market during the launch of Maugoiri Assistant County Commissioner’s office.

He said he would not be intimidated, calling on the authorities to deploy enough police officers if they are interested in stopping him from engaging and meeting his Kiharu people.
“ I learned of their trick, and after I was notified, I said I would be in Kahuro within an hour, and when I arrived, there was no police officer near the building,” said the MP.
