The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has announced a major restructuring of Amani Clubs’ leadership at the National and Regional levels, aimed at enhancing governance, efficiency, and the clubs’ mission of promoting peace and cohesion in Kenyan schools.
The new leadership team, serving a three-year term from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2028, is as follows:

National Chairman: Mr. Kennedy Kunani (Kakamega County)
National Vice Chairman: Ms. Amina Malika (Tana River County)
National Secretary: Ms. Tabitha W. Njoroge (Murang’a County)
National Vice Secretary: David O. Ochola (Kisumu County)
National Organising Secretary: Emmanuel Wekesa (Nairobi County)
National Vice Organising Secretary: Rashid A. Hillow (Mandera County)
National Treasurer: Tiffany N. Ndunda (Machakos County)
National Welfare Coordinator: Permenus Nyabayo (West Pokot County)

The process of appointing County Coordinators is ongoing, with announcements expected soon. NCIC also expressed gratitude to outgoing coordinators for their selfless service in advancing Amani Clubs’ mission.
Speaking to the Mt kenya journal Amani Clubs National Chairman Mr. Kennedy Kunani said:
“Our clubs are working closely with schools and government agencies to educate students on peace, tolerance, and responsible citizenship ahead of the 2027 elections. We aim to equip our youth with conflict-resolution skills and ethical leadership values to ensure a culture of non-violence and unity prevails in our country.”
He also unveiled the 2026 Debate Calendar – Debating for Peace Program (Kenya Edition):
17th–18th January 2026: Judges Training
By 7th February 2026: Sub-County Championship
By 7th March 2026: County Championship
7th–12th April 2026: National Championship
Mr. Kunani called on all partners to come on board to support the program as plans continue for the East African Debate in Kigali, Rwanda, scheduled for August 2026.
He added that the clubs’ work is particularly important in light of last year’s Sababasa demonstrations, where many lives were tragically lost, underscoring the need for continued peace education among young people.
With the new leadership in place and ongoing initiatives across schools nationwide, Amani Clubs are set to strengthen Kenya’s social cohesion and nurture responsible, peace-minded youth leadership for the future.
