Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka claimed that the court case derailing the composition of electoral commissioners is the creation of the government.
The opposition leader said the state sponsored the suit before the court as an avenue to block nomination of Dr Koki Muli after realising she cannot be manipulated.
Addressing the media, after a service at Kenol PCEA in Murang’a, Kalonzo who was accompanied by former MPs Jeremiah Kioni, Peter Mwathi, Jude Jomo and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, said it was a pity that the state was in control of parliament.
“ The delay to have IEBC is a delaying tactic employed by the state after it took control of the parliament. This is what is called the “state capture,” said Kalonzo.
Kalonzo had attended the church for the thanksgiving of former Theta MCA Simon Karema after he returned to Kenya after treatment in India.
He asked the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula to urgently streamline the assembly to ensure the process of nominating the IEBC commissioners was back on track.
“Since the parliament is in state capture the MPs should be aware that the boundary review process ought to be in place,” said Kalonzo.
He further dismissed claims that he was secretly meeting President William Ruto in the State House during the night.
“In case I want to see the President, I will make it public. Am presently meeting other leaders in a strategy for 2027,” said Kalonzo.
