President William Ruto has moved Irungu Nyakera to chair the Kenya International Convention Centre (KICC) from Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
Nyakera moves to the new Presidential assignment shoulder high after he managed to transform Kemsa to an effective organisation through a series of interventions.
On Friday, Ruto appointed Nyakera to the management of the KICC, after he replaced him at Kemsa with Michael Tunai, the former Narok Governor.
At KICC, Nyakera takes over from Adelina Mwau , the former Makueni deputy governor who has been at the helm since April last year.

Nyakera who had served as the Transport Principal Secretary also chairs The Farmers Party.
Peter Kamonde says KEMSA enjoyed major transformation under Nyakera calling on Tunai to follow suit.
” Under Nyakera movement of drugs from Kemsa was monitored unlike previously when consignments ended up in private facilities,” said Kamonde.
