Meru County Assembly impeaches Governor Kawira Mwangaza for the third time.
In the voting, Mwangaza was impeached by 49 votes as her 17 allies voted against the motion by nominated MCA Zipporah Kinya.
The action by the MCA became a laughing stock in the country as three MCAs abstained.
Speaker Ayub Bundi ruled that the impeachment motion was legally before the assembly despite a pending court case.
“ The Governor had been invited to defend herself but had not responded,’ said the speaker.
