Nyakera enjoins in the one man, one vote, one shillings debate

 The Mountain Journal

Kemsa Chairman Irungu Nyakera has thrown his support to the debate on one man, one vote, one shilling.

But his support is no condition that  the country be developed as a whole without some regions being left behind.

“Sometimes we celebrate how successful our regions or communities are while forgetting that they were developed using resources drawn from the other regions,” said Nyakera in his X.

He calls  for a dialogue around how the  country can enjoy fruits without antagonizing  the others.

He says that most of the historical loans taken by previous administrations were used to develop Nairobi and its environs, and with that Mt Kenya benefited tremendously – “ He adds that Mt Kenya region has better infrastructure than many other regions.

“If you peruse keenly through education data charts, you will note that any unfortunate number you see corresponds to a region in the ASAL areas. You will get similar data if you look through road infrastructure, hospitals, internet, etc,” said Nyakera.

What we pay for today, our children will celebrate tomorrow.
