Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has commissioned smart cities programmes at Gacharage market, Kandara sub county.
The celebrated initiative by the governor will give Gacharage the first tarmac road around the centre ending with the locals wading in the mud and dust along the busy market.
“ The Smart City Programme aims to improve the working environment for traders, easy access to shops and improve the drainage system,” said the Governor.
He said was interested in improved service delivery as he promised during the campaigns.
“ The programme has benefited selected towns in the county but is working to ensure the programme is completed in the due course,” said the governor.
He was accompanied by his deputy Stephen Munania, MCAs’ host Naomi Nyambura, Kibe Wasary,, Elizabeth Warisper Mwangi, Laban Chomba, Bernard Ruiru,John Kamunyua , John Kamwaga, Kamau Kagori and Thomas Muteti.
